Wilson's latest signal booster, the Sleek 4G-V is the first 4G LTE cradle cell phone signal booster and also the first 2G/3G and 4G signal booster!

Wilson’s latest signal booster, the Sleek 4G-V is the first 4G LTE cradle cell phone signal booster and also the first 2G/3G and 4G signal booster. The Sleek 4G-V is the first repeater to work with Verizon’s 700MHz 4G LTE network as well as 2G/3G networks on the 1800/1900MHz frequency bands—effectively boosting signal for both voice and data transfer. It is slated to be unveiled at CES next week and is already expected as a great success.

With a similar design to its predecessor, the Wilson Sleek, the Sleek 4G-V is easy to install, weighs just three ounces and can deliver up to 20 times more power than a cell phone alone. Wilson’s Director of Business Development, Laine Matthews, recently stated: “Verizon Wireless customers who use LTE-enabled phones and data devices can now enjoy the same benefits of Wilson boosters that others on 3G networks have long enjoyed. For those troubled by a weak signal, the Sleek 4G-V provides a strong, reliable connection so they can connect with confidence.” Wilson is proud to provide a single signal boosters that truly benefits Verizon 4G subscribers by providing them an easy, accessible and efficient way to fully enjoy the country largest 4G network, Verizon’s LTE wherever they go.

The new 4G LTE Sleek will be available in Q2 of 2012, but is already available for pre-order only!

Cell signal boosters can help businesses run M2M related activities without being hindered by a dysfunctional wireless network. Find out how!

The market for M2M (machine-to-machine) products and applications is constantly growing and is no longer restricted to serving the sole purpose of standard supply chain management or basic energy management. Its applications are now reaching new levels of intricacy by being utilized in advanced industries such as healthcare, smart grid, public safety, and more.

However, without a connection, connected devices are no better than any regular device. While all the most common places (rural areas, transportation infrastructures…) are now in range of one if not multiple wireless networks, there are still some coverage gaps that must be adressed before M2M connections can be really active everywhere.

This is where cell phone signal booster manufacturers, with Wilson leading the industry, have an important role to play in providing low signal intensity areas with an affordable and easily applicable solution. Wilson’s COO Joe Banos considers “M2M and the booster market to be synergistic.” M2M applications provide an automated solution for tasks that humans wouldn’t be able to do (monitoring the temperature in an industrial refrigerator, managing the extraction process on an off shore oil rig, etc). This also means that these locations might not be the ones with the best signal coverage. Cell signal amplifiers and repeaters can thus help businesses run these kind of activities without being hindered by a dysfunctional wireless network.

For business cases, these examples are rather extreme. However, the same issues can occur in the consumer M2M market. With remote healthcare equipment, what happens if a heart condition monitoring device is not able to send out critical information in real time because the patient is in his backyard, just a few steps out of range of his wireless network? Once again, cellular signal boosters can be a go-to solution.

Over the years, Wilson Electronics has developed many successful signal booster products for all purposes. In an effort to foster innovation and to continue to provide top-notch equipment, the company has started a partnership with service provider Verizon. their goal is to create new boosters following the latest FCC regulations while providing the market with boosters that will help M2M equipment to function uninterruptedly. As an M2M products vending company and as an M2M boosters expert company, Wilson is also featured in the latest market research report titled “Machine-to-Machine (M2M) Companies and Applications 2011“.

Wilson announces collaborative partnership with Verizon Wireless for cell phone booster development, respectful of the new FCC rules.

Wilson Electronics has always been moved to provide customers with the best and most efficient cell phone signal amplifiers on the market. As of today, the latest FCC rules in terms of technical specifications are putting an extra pressure on manufacturers to build the best boosters destined for the general public. Wilson sees an extraordinary opportunity here to provide even more innovative and efficient products to valued customers. Wilson believes that cell phone signal repeaters are an important asset for consumers who live in or work in areas where coverage may not be optimal. The company also aims at creating the best boosters on the market.

Wilson’s new partner, the largest U.S. mobile network provider and market leader in 4G technology, Verizon Wireless, shares the company’s ambition to protect and provide reliable 3G and 4G networks while offering the consumer the opportunity to further enhance its signal reception.

Regarding the partnership, Joe Banos, Chief Operating Officer stated:

“In a collaborative effort, Wilson Electronics and Verizon Wireless have agreed upon new technical specifications for consumer cellular boosters, which the two companies have filed jointly in response to the FCC’s signal booster NPRM. Wilson feels the joint proposal is a win-win for both consumers and cellular carriers. Boosters meeting new stricter design standards can ensure that private users as well as government agencies can continue to have reliable service in areas where signal coverage may not be optimal due to terrain or economics. The new standards will also ensure that carriers’ networks will be protected from cell site interference, which poorly built boosters might cause.

“We commend the FCC and its Commissioners for understanding the value cellular signal boosters provide to the public, and the need that exists to have higher standards placed on booster manufacturers in order to prevent interference with the cellular networks. Wilson believes that its collaboration with Verizon Wireless was only possible because the regulatory framework for signal boosters was skillfully constructed by the Commission to evenly balance the interests of consumers, manufacturers and carriers.

“In addition, we would like to commend Verizon Wireless for diligently and productively working on proposed specifications with Wilson Electronics and for sharing the common goal of bringing the best signal boosting solutions to market for the consumers. We also believe that if the technical specifications in the proposal have been deemed sufficient by Verizon Wireless to protect its cellular networks, they should be deemed sufficient to protect all cellular networks.”

Wilson Electronics welcomes its new partner Verizon Wireless and believes that the partnership will benefit the cell phone booster industry overall by achieving higher standards and better satisfying consumer needs.

Wilson/Verizon jointly developed products will be added to our current cell repeaters & amplifiers portfolio (3G, 4G boosters for any type of building configuration) on Quantum Wireless as soon as they are made available.

Machine-to-Machine systems can finally reap the benefits of wireless-related accessories. Wilson broke open an original product line and a new market with its new Wilson Datapro 811225. This handy signal booster was built specifically for M2M communication. ATMs, medical devices, industrial machines, smart meters, and digital billboards are just a smattering of M2M devices; they constantly share information wirelessly with other machines and servers, streamlining efficiency and effectiveness. Wilson’s Datapro ensures that these systems run quickly and reliably.

M2M devices in weak signal environments may perform less than desirably. A spotty connection often results in slower wireless communication or even the resending of data. This obviously curbs the advantage of M2M technology. The faster data transfers, the faster a response to that data can follow through. The Datapro 811225 boosts weak signals to maximum possible strength, guaranteeing speed and dependability for M2M data transfers.

The Datapro configures to almost every M2M system and device. This versatility is extended with the device’s ability to connect with every CDMA network in North America. The device’s universal applicability simplifies businesses with a variety of M2M devices and networks. With dual band operability and a bi-directional amplifier (strengthening both outgoing and incoming signals) the Datapro offers a solution for nearly every application.

Wilson Electronics offers a wide selection of compatible antennas for the Datapro. Each situation requires a very specific antenna to boost signal effectively. Finding the right antenna is crucial to booster performance and the Datapro’s range of options makes it suitable for almost any circumstance. With a smooth marine exterior, this device attracts little unwanted attention. Attachable to most surfaces, the Datapro can even be hidden on the back of machines or on other surfaces, out of sight.

Wilson hit the ground running with its first M2M device to compliment its impressive array of cell phone signal boosters. The very first versions of this product already offer so much to this large, varying market. We can certainly hope to witness the expansion of the M2M boosting market in the coming months, but it’s already got a head start with the Datapro.

Can the FCC come to a decision on cellular signal boosters? “Wilson Electronics, the leading provider of signal boosters in North America, is one such proponent. ‘Raising the bar on boosters is a win-win for carriers, consumers, government operations [and] public safety [agencies],’ says Joe Banos, Wilson’s Chief Operating Officer. The Utah-based company expects the FCC’s declaratory ruling to be issued with a waiver. The waiver would permit the use of boosters that incorporate protections related to noise floor level and feedback oscillation as well as an ‘auto-shutdown’ feature that would power off boosters if they exceed these boundaries.” Read more: FCC Decision On Cellular Signal Boosters Imminent.
